Q: What are the extra requirements for foreigners opening Golden Savings Accounts, Green Pearls Deposits and CDs?
A: - Copy of residence document.
  - Copy of passport.
Q: What documents are required to open Green Pearls Deposits and Golden Savings Accounts?
A: - Copy of National ID.
Q: What documents are required to open accounts for minors?
A: - Copy of custody documentation.
  - Copy of guardian’s National ID.
  - Copy of minor’s birth certificate/National ID.
Q: What are AAIB’s working hours?
A: - Sunday to Thursday: 8:30 am to 5 pm.
Q: How do I arrange an appointment with a sales representative to issue a Credit Card, or open a Golden Savings Account or Green Pearls Deposit?
A: - Simply contact AAIB’s Call Centre.
Q: Where are AAIB’s regional branches?
A: - United Arab Emirates – in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
  - Lebanon – Beirut.
Q: Can I access accounts at my local branch from AAIB’s regional branches?
A: - Yes, you can access your Egyptian account by sending a fax from the regional branch to the local branch. The procedure takes approximately one hour.
Q: What are the procedures for opening a Joint Account for either a Golden Savings Account or Green Pearls Deposit?
A: - Both customers must be present at the bank with copies of their National IDs when first opening the account.
Q: What happens if I close my Golden Savings Account or redeem my Green Pearls Deposits / CDs and I have a Credit Card against this account?
A: - The outstanding balance on the Credit Card should be settled.
  - The card must be handed in to AAIB to be destroyed.
  - The block on the amount against the Credit Card limit is lifted 3 months after the card’s cancellation.
Q: Can I deposit my interest in a Savings Account rather than a Current Account?
A: - Yes.

Q: How can I apply for an AAIB Credit Card?
A: - You can apply for an AAIB Credit Card by:
1- Visiting one of AAIB nearest branch
2- Calling AAIB Call Center 19555 and one of our sales team will call you to set an appointment
3- Applying through our website
Q: How quickly can I get my Credit Card after applying?
A: - If all the required documents are presented to the bank you can receive your Credit Card in 5 working days.
Q: I already have an AAIB Credit Card. Can I apply for another Credit Card from AAIB.
A: - AAIB issues three types of Credit Cards, Visa, Master Card and Mini Visa Cards. If you have one type you can apply for the other within the same granted limit.
Q: What is the Smart Card?
A: - The Smart Card uses microchip technology to provide wide range of services. The Smart Card’s advanced technology combines security with flexibility and efficiency to give you all the advantages of the new generation of Credit Card.
Q: What are the benefits of Smart Cards?
A: - Smart Card benefits:
1. All your data stored on one single card.
2. It works both online and offline.
3. The unique PIN number assures security.
4. The card can not be forged.
5. Dual usage through magnetic strip and microchip technology.
Q: What is the credit limit offered on AAIB Credit Card?
A: - AAIB offers secured and unsecured cards. For secured cards, you are entitled to a credit limit that equals 90% of your deposits. For unsecured cards, you are entitled to a credit limit equivalent two times your monthly net salary.
Q: Is it possible to ask for a higher credit limit?
A: - Yes, in case of increase in your salary you can present your new salary slip to your branch and your credit limit can be raised.
Q: What happens when you charge your Credit Card over the credit limit offered?
A: - Nothing will happen.
Q: What is the personal identification number PIN that is sent to me when I receive my Credit Card?
A: - The PIN code is a unique number that is used for cash withdrawals from the ATMs and is also required by the merchants while making purchases through the POS.
Q: I forgot my PIN number. What should I do?
A: - Go to your branch and sign request to issue a new PIN.
Q: What is the grace period?
A: - Our grace period is 55 days on all purchases from POS.
Q: How do you make your Credit Card payment?
A: - You can make your Credit Card payment through any of the following:
1- AAIB Branchs.
2- Our ATMs.
3- By leaving standard orders to your current and saving accounts.
4- By transfers from your accounts with other banks.
5- AAIB delivery service whereby a courier is sent to your location to pick up your payment for a fee of EGP 10.
Q: What is the maximum withdrawal amount per day using the ATMs?
A: - Maximum withdrawals are as follows:
1. For the local cards you can withdraw 100% of your credit limit.
2. For Visa International and Gold, you can withdraw 50% of your credit limit.
3. For MasterCard, you can withdraw 50% of your credit limit with maximum EGP 5000 per day.
Q: How can I control the usage of your supplementary Credit Card?
A: - Every card has its separate limit so no need to control the usage of the card as you set the limit earlier.
Q: If I don’t pay off my balance in full, how much will it cost me in interest?
A: - AAIB interest rate is 1.85%
Q: What happens if my Credit Card is stolen?
A: - You have to call 19555 to deactivate your credit card immediately and ask for a card replacement from your AAIB branch.
Q: What should you do before traveling abroad?
A: - For security purposes, call 19555 before traveling for notification.
Q: Are there any Credit Cards that don’t charge foreign transaction fees?
A: - No.
Q: Can I use my Credit Card on any website?
A: - Yes, but you have to call 19555 to enable usage of your card on the internet.
Q: What is the process that I should take to cancel a Credit Card account?
A: - First, settle all your Credit Card balance, then request a card closure.
Q: What should I do when my card is about to expire?
A: - Nothing, your renewed card will be delivered to you ahead of time.
Q: What are the benefits expected from AAIB credit cards?
A: - AAIB Credit card benefits:
1. Competitive interest rate.
2. Exclusive discounts through selected merchants.
3. Smart Card technology.
4. Unlimited number of supplementary cards.
5. 24 hours a day 7 days a week call center.
6. You will pay only 5% of your outstanding monthly balance.
Q: What are the Mini Visa Cards?
A: - The Mini Visa Card is half the size of the normal Visa. It provides a high practicality level through a hole that enables you to attach it to your key chain, mobile phone or a long strap around our neck. It is used to make purchases on the POS only and can not be used at ATMs.
Q: What are the numbers of supplementary cards I can issue?
A: - You can issue unlimited number of supplementary cards.
Q: What is the minimum payment?
A: - You have to pay only 5% of your outstanding balance.
Q: What are the differences between local and international credit cards?
A: - A local card can be used only inside Egypt; you can withdraw up to 100% of the credit limit. International credit cards can be used both inside and outside Egypt.

GOLDEN SAVINGS ACCOUNTS


Q: When do interest rate calculations begin for deposits in Golden Savings Accounts?
A: - The last day of an interest period is the last day of each month at 2pm. Interest rates begin to be calculated on the first day of the following month.
Q: If I want to withdraw from or close my Golden Savings Account before the interest is paid will this period be included in the calculation of the interest?
A: - No, if you withdraw from or close your account before interest is paid no interest will be credited.
