Arab African International Bank engages in philanthropic activities
motivated by the conviction that corporate are capable of making a significant
difference in the Egyptian society. Abu El Reesh dedicated project is a source
of profound pride to employees at AAIB. Renovation was not only in terms of
securing a high quality infrastructure, but included all aspects that ensure
the well-being of children patients like the catering services, recreational
services for children and the hygiene.
2005
On Sunday 3rd of July 2005, Arab African International Bank (AAIB) successfully
launched the complete renovation of the entire 4th floor of Cairo University
Specialized Pediatrics Hospital (Abu El Reesh Hospital); an outcome of diligent
and hard effort over a couple of years.

AAIB's contribution to the hospital includes helping develop a new system of
policies and procedures in coordination with the hospital's management to
ensure a high quality service given to the patients. It is worth mentioning
that AAIB conducted a one year comprehensive Training Program for all hospital
nurses & support staff, to upgrade their skills and better serve the patients. |

During the launch ceremony of the 4th floor, Mr. Hassan Abdalla, Vice Chairman
and Managing Director of Arab African International Bank acknowledged the
efforts of Professor Dr. Maha Mourad- Hospital Manager, Professor Dr. Madiha
Khatab- Dean, Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University and welcomed H.E. Professor
Amr Ezzat Salama, Minister of Higher Education & Academic Research; Professor
Ali Abdel Rahman- President of Cairo University, and H.E. Antonio Badini,
Ambassador of Italy and H.E. Kunihiko Makaita, Ambassador of Japan. |

Mr Abdalla said “what has been achieved so far is part of an ongoing
project to revamp the rest of the hospital, and to present a model of what and
how institutions can possibly contribute to the society”.
2003
- 2004
This thoughtful initiative was first taken by AAIB in 2003, with the renovation
of the left wing of the 4th floor of the hospital.
On July 1st , 2004 AAIB celebrated the renovation of the left wing
of the 4th floor of the hospital, for post-operative patient children. AAIB's
efforts were not only limited to material donations but also extended to help
children get their medical treatment in a healthy, hygienic, and cheerful
environment. The renovated unit accommodated 40 beds, which included Kidney and
Cardiac Rehabilitation Units. To brighten up the children's day, a playroom was
constructed which included a TV set with cartoon cable, games and books.
AAIB's efforts were applauded by Dr Moufid Shehab, Minister of State
for Shura Council Affairs, Dr Hussein Kamel Bahaa El Din, former Minister of
Education, and Dr Madiha Khattab, Dean of Faculty of Medicine - Cairo
University. They collectively expressed their aspiration that other Egyptian
institutions would follow this pattern . Commenting on this initiative, Mr
Hassan Abdalla, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of AAIB noted, "…beyond
being a profit-making organization, AAIB has a moral mission serving the
Egyptian community."
