On Monday June 24, 4th annual AAIB Award witnessed a triumphant closing
ceremony, where out of 6 prospective finalists from 5 participating
universities, 3 ambitious teams were applauded and rewarded both monetary and
non-monetary rewards. AAIB celebrated the ‘finale’ at the Grand Hyatt Cairo.
Guests included: university representatives, AAIB top management and staff,
participating universities' students and faculty, participants with their
friends and families, as well as media.
Prizes were presented by a panel which included 4 members: AAIB VC &
MD, Mr. Hassan Abdalla in addition to representatives of 3 universities: Dr.
Ali Abd El Rahman, President of Cairo University; Prof. Dr. Tim Sullivan, AUC
Provost; and Dr. Christian Kalhoefer– Head of Finance and representative of
GUC.
Prizes
The 1st prize went to the Faculty of Economics & Political
Science from Cairo University, for the project Golden Fund which is an open end
fund of funds, with a size of L.E 500 Million consisting of eight of the best
performing money market and equity open end funds in the Egyptian market.
Winners : Ingy Gemei, Gawdat , Aya Hussein, Wassila Hanafi, and Sara Hassan. |

The 2nd prize went to Banquity (Cairo University) which is a
service that offers three types of interrelated services:

Issuing private equity certificates for long-term investment with a return
higher than the stock market.

Managing and funding for the bank's own private equity operations.

Financial Advisory and consultancy for private equity operations directed at
high net-worth individuals and large institutions. Winners: Mohamed Mokhtar,
Amr Ahmed, and Essam El Maddah.

As for the 3rd place, was rewarded to the project PetroCard
from GUC. PetroCard is a prepaid card to be used in petrol stations in Egypt.
Cards can be bought by fuel consumers from any AAIB branch or from gas
stations. The role of the bank is to transfer the costs of petrol used daily to
the petrol companies’ AAIB accounts, and to transfer the daily profits to the
gas stations’ accounts. Winners: Ahmed Refat, Heba Refat, Nourellah El Shamaa. |

It’s worth mentioning that the year 2008 will mark a very special anniversary
of the Award as it will witness its 5th round, where wider exposure and a
fierce competition will be awaiting university students to go through an
unforgettable experience and gain exceptional rewards. Wait for the upcoming
